Carey is a former fashion model. She is 5'10" tall, and was well-liked by high-end American designers, such as Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren as well as others. In 1979 the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists elected the father of her Scientist of The Year. Carey was raised throughout the world because of her father's work. She started modeling part time while she was studying at the University of Colorado and caught the eye of a rep of the Ford model Agency in New York. In the year 1980, she emigrated to France and briefly lived in Paris as well as Bordeaux and then returned in New York in order to pursue an acting career. The model was featured on Vogue and Glamour cover. While modeling, she continued to study in full-time a major in literature within New York University. Her interest grew in acting and started studying at the Neighborhood Playhouse of New York. Her acting debut was an appearance with Robin Williams in the 1986 film "Club Pardise. In her spare time, she enjoys ski, wind surfing, rock climbing and white water river rafting.
